JIMMY HUYNH

Passionate learner, aspiring engineer, determined leader.

Hello! My name is Jimmy Huynh, a 17-year-old student who currently attends Chaminade College School in Toronto, Ontario. I am a determined student who has a passion for learning, with a genuine thirst for knowledge, no matter the subject. As a learner, I value personal growth/learning, problem-solving, and accomplishments/results.

I involve myself within my school community, through various activities seen throughout my portfolio, developing communication and teamwork skills while allowing me to take learning outside of the classroom.

With interests in computer programming and technology, I have applied to Software Engineering and Computer Science programs at the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, and McMaster University. Going into university, I hope to further develop my critical thinking, through theory and application.

I used to struggle with the question as to why I wanted to become an engineer, but in deep reflection, I now understand. For me, engineering encapsulates all that I value, as it will allow me to constantly develop my critical thinking ability through problem-solving while producing accomplishments/results.

A big focus of mine is self-improvement and I am always setting out goals to complete. Some things that I am currently working on are increasing productivity as well as incorporating physical fitness into my daily routine. I value self-improvement as with it comes great benefits which can then be applied to other fields.

My goal in life is to create, whether that be apps or art. I want to develop programs that can help others with their goals or improve their overall quality of life. The mind is capable of such great things, and in collaboration with others, I hope to make a difference in this world, no matter how minimal.

As my goals and aspirations change, I will continuously update this page to reflect who I am.
